Homemade, No Bake Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Treats

These delicious homemade dog treats are so easy – just mix, scoop, and freeze. They require no baking and dogs find them extra tasty!

Here at Odie, we are all about spoiling our pets. And with fall vibes making us crave pumpkin flavored everything, we thought it was only right to make something for our pups. These pumpkin and peanut butter dog treats are not only super easy to make, they only have 5 ingredients and don’t require baking. And for those curious enough to try these treats, you’ll see why dogs love them so much.

No really, they’re basically the same thing as those $7/bag energy balls you find at healthy grocery stores. With just a few things in your pantry, you can make the same exact thing at home. And trust us, they’re much better fresh.

And of course they got to lick the bowl. I think this was just as popular as the pumpkin treats themselves.

This recipe mix can be rolled into little balls or if you want to make them into fun shapes, we found some great baking molds by Le Dogue on Amazon for $13.99.

We stuck the molds into the freezer overnight and they popped right out in the morning. I mean, look how cute these paw prints are! Not that our dogs cared what they looked like, but I like them…

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can of pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 2 1/2 cups gluten-free oatmeal
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

EQUIPMENT

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 spoon
  • Silicone molds or Baking sheet

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl
  2. Use a spoon to mix the ingredients until it forms a “difficult to work” ball.
  3. Scoop your mix into the silicone molds and press down to make sure you get into the edges.
  4. If you are rolling them into balls, scoop the mix and roll it in your hands forming little 1-1.5 inch balls. Place them on a baking sheet.
  5. Place the molds/baking sheet into the freezer for 3 hours or overnight.

That’s it! I just pop a couple of the treats out of the molds and serve them to the dogs frozen. They devour them in seconds. I haven’t stored them in the refrigerator in case they don’t keep their shape but I’m sure they would do just fine.
